The Rabbi Remuh Jewish Library was established in June 2005 and it is the only Jewish Library in Cracow open to everyone. The estimate number of the collection is 2000 books in a few languages: Polish, English, Hebrew and Yiddish. In our library we have the new Israeli prose in Polish and English, the Torah and the Talmud, diaries and memoirs, albums and comics, the textbooks and dictionaries in Hebrew, poetry and historic books. Also, we do have ‘Pan Tadeusz’ in Yiddish. We are updated with the Polish publishing market and each month we buy new volumes to expand our collection. We also subscribe to several magazines, e.g. ‘Midrasz’, ‘Reform Judaism Magazine’, ‘The World Jewish Digest’, and we are planing to subscribe to many others magazines. The Library also collects leaflets, folders, articles, photographs, drafts and posters related to the Jewish issues. The Library is expanding and developing every day thanks to our donors. We would also like to appeal to anyone who owns appropriate books for providing them to the Library. Each person which supports the collection is placed on the Donors of the Remuh Library List.
In year 2008/2009 the Library was supported by The Rothschild Foundation (Europe). We would like to welcome and to invite you to use the collection of our Library! |
