The Jewish Literary Salon is an unformal establishment of the cultural life of the Krakow’s  district Kazimierz. It has been functioning successfully since 2005.

Monthly meetings of the Jewish Literary Salon take place in the Klezmer’s House (Klezmer Hois) located in the former Jewish district Kazimierz. The place is not accidental ; in the building where an old mykve is to find  a Jewish spirit floats around- can there be a better place to discuss about literature?

Every month, on the last Monday the cellar of the Klezmer’s House turn into place of meetings with Jewish writers- or people writing on Jewish issues; place, where everybody is invited to join  interesting debates on literature.

For an average reader it is an extraordinary opportunity to see and listen to a person known usually only from the book’s pages. Suddenly a mysterious author becomes a close mortal like we are, with all the life anxieties and concerns, but also sense of humor and distance.

The Literary Salon is a compliment of The Jewish Remuh Library, where we collect wide variety of books on Jewish themes. Library generates a possibility to meet a written word and Salon gives opportunity to immerse deeper in the literature.

The meetings take place cyclically on the last Mondays  in Klezmer Hois at 6 Szeroka Street in Krakow.

In year 2008/2009 the Salon was supported by The Rothschild Foundation (Europe).
